PROTECTING WHAT MATTERS

OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

At I-Traffic we are committed to protecting and enhancing environmental, social, cultural and economic wellbeing for future generations. We are a 100% owned Māori owned business. We are registered and certified with Amotai towards supporting Supplier Diversity targets in our projects.

In 2022 we partnered with Third Era Sustainability Consulting (https://www.thirdera.co.nz/) to take part in a 3-month Sustainable Business Accelerator Programme. The programme helped us to:

  • Build our culture and mindset for sustainability.

  • Identify our sustainability priorities aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

  • Baseline our sustainability current state where we will measure and report our GHG emissions, waste to landfill, and social outcomes including supplier diversity.

  • Establish the systems and processes to reduce, monitor and report on our sustainability progress.

  • And most importantly take action towards a sustainable world.

We intend to become an organisation leading in sustainability.

Specific sustainability achievements include:

EMISSIONS

Measuring and reporting GHG Emissions
I-Traffic has begun the process of measuring and reporting our GHG emissions inventory. Our baseline year is 2020.
I-Traffic is committed to several long-term emissions reduction goals such as:

  • Transitioning to a low emissions fleet.

  • Energy efficiency improvements

  • Waste reduction
We have built these initiatives into our long-term budgets.

WASTE

Measuring and reporting waste to landfill
I-Traffic began the process of measuring and reporting waste to landfill in March 2022.

SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING

We will provide monthly sustainability progress reports to show how we are delivering upon our commitments. Reporting periods can be discussed and agreed upon with the client.
